The pebble-shaped device gives an immediate snapshot of body biomarkers such as hydration and vitamin levels, and sends its analysis to a smartphone app that offers suggestions for workouts or dietary changes.
U-Scan consists of two parts: a reader and a replaceable cartridge, and uses low- energy radar to detect who is urinating through movement signatures. Each cartridge can perform about 100 tests and lasts three months. Developed over four years, U-Scan will become available in Europe in Q2 and will roll out to the rest of world throughout the year.
