Accounting leaders facing seismic shift in AI era
With artificial intelligence rapidly changing how accounting firms deliver services, communicate with clients, and manage internal processes, a new event is launching to bridge the growing capability gap.
AI Edge for Accountants will debut in Sydney on 17 September, offering a full-day, hands-on program built to help accounting firm partners and directors integrate AI into their business – strategically, ethically, and immediately.
Powered by Captivate Q and strictly limited to just 40 participants, the program is tailored for owners, directors, and senior leaders of accounting practices who are looking to save time, scale smarter, and lead a firm that doesn’t rely on them for every moving part.
Facilitated by industry veteran, AI coach, digital strategist, and bestselling author, Adam Franklin, the in-person event is designed to demystify AI for professional services, with practical tools, workflows, and systems that accountants can use straight away. Franklin has trained thousands of accountants, brokers, and advisers to streamline and grow their practices using AI and digital systems.
“Accounting professionals are at a critical inflection point with AI,” said Louisa Thomas, program director at Captivate Q. “This program is built specifically for the realities of running accounting practices – it’s practical, skills-first, and focused on capability over theory.”
Structured for action, not just awareness
AI Edge for Accountants will challenge the misconception that AI reduces trust or personalisation – reframing it instead as a tool to increase capacity, improve service delivery, and elevate advisory.
Attendees will map where they’re stuck in the weeds – such as client emails, reporting, or repetitive admin – and learn how to automate processes using proven frameworks and free tools.
The program will showcase real-world examples from Australian accounting firms already using AI to support internal workflows and client communications, alongside strategies to help participants reclaim 10-plus hours per week through automation.
Participants will also build and refine their own prompt libraries using the proprietary Prompt Stack™ system, enabling faster and more consistent creation of client letters, reports, advice summaries and marketing content.
Live demonstration will reveal how AI, when used properly, can execute tasks up to 100 times faster than manual methods – without compromising accuracy or quality.
Franklin will also guide accountants through training AI to replicate their firm’s context, brand and client voice, and build a personalised 12-month roadmap to embed AI into team workflows, delegation, and service delivery.
Designed for principals – not passengers
Organisers have emphasised that AI Edge for Accountants is built for leaders serious about adoption and integration – not just passive observers of the emerging tech.
“This isn’t a panel of futurists talking about 2040,” added Thomas. “It’s about what accounting firm leaders can do right now to unlock time, increase productivity, and build a more scalable, efficient practice.”
The AI Edge Series will soon expand to Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. Registrations for Sydney are now open, with strong early interest expected to fill the limited seats quickly.
Dates for other cities will be announced shortly. Accountants are encouraged to join the waitlist to be notified when events launch in their region.
