BDO names 16 new leaders for 2026

BDO Australia has announced a flurry of new leadership appointments for 2026, including four new partners and 12 new directors.

On Tuesday (6 January), BDO Australia announced the appointment of four new partners and 12 new directors, effective from 1 January 2026.

“These exceptional leaders embody our values and share a commitment to excellence, which will help shape our future success,” the firm said of the promotions.

“With the expertise of all our people, BDO continues to expand services, strengthen relationships, and build capabilities to deliver outstanding outcomes for our clients.”

 
 

Newly-promoted business services partner Mark Dunlop specialises in providing outsourced finance function services in sectors including not-for-profits, real estate and scale-ups from BDO’s Perth office.

Based in Melbourne, newly-promoted business services partner Mary Farquhar specialises in high-level tax compliance for foreign subsidiaries operating in Australia. She has experience addressing technical matters, including transfer pricing, tax consolidations, thin capitalisation and withholding tax aspects.

Michelle Matchett, a new business services partner based in BDO’s Brisbane office, provides business and taxation advisory services to a broad range of clients. She specialises in tax compliance, business structuring, and financial modelling for the aged care sector, family businesses, and high-net-worth individuals.

Nick Howard, BDO Melbourne’s new audit and assurance partner, has almost 20 years of experience in providing external audit services to ASX-listed, multinational and private companies. He specialises in sectors including tech, telecommunications, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals.

Alongside these four new partners, BDO appointed 12 new directors:
