Chartered Accountants Worldwide re-appoints Ainslie van Onselen for 2-year term
In a unanimous decision, Chartered Accountants Worldwide has reappointed Ainslie van Onselen, chief executive of CA ANZ, as its chair.
Chartered Accountants Worldwide (CAW) has re-appointed CA ANZ chief executive Ainslie van Onselen to chair the CAW board for another two-year term, in a unanimous decision.
She was first appointed as the chair of CAW in November 2023, being the first woman and the first CA ANZ representative to hold the position. The global body includes members of 15 CA institutes and has a community of over 1.8 million CAs.
In her next term, van Onselen said she would focus on supporting CAs in a rapidly evolving global economy. She said she would advocate for innovation, sustainability advancements, AI and technology, and ensuring a strong pipeline of future talent in the profession.
“I am delighted to be reappointed as Chair of Chartered Accountants Worldwide. It has been a privilege to work alongside our 15 member institutes, and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved collectively over the past two years,” van Onselen said.
“I look forward to continuing this journey by building on our shared commitment to trust, integrity, and inspiring the next generation to see Chartered Accountancy as a dynamic, purposeful and future-focused profession.”
Van Onselen has been the CEO of CA ANZ since May 2020, following a two-decade-long career in corporate law and banking. During her time at CA ANZ, she has pushed the industry body’s diversity, inclusion, sustainability and corporate governance standards.
“This is an exciting time for us, and I remain confident that by working together, we will continue to drive meaningful progress for our members and for the communities they serve,” she said.
