Corrs Chambers Westgarth has welcomed a new Sydney-based tax partner to its ranks.

National law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth has revealed the addition of a new tax partner, Janet Cho, to its line-up of tax law professionals.

Cho joined the Sydney firm and specialises in indirect taxes and structured transactions, with a particular focus on stamp duty, land tax and GST.

Gavin MacLaren, chief executive and senior partner at Corrs, said Cho was experienced in property and funds structuring, IPOs, mergers and demergers, corporate M&A and complex corporate restructures.

“Janet has significant experience working on complex and high-value transactions and her appointment further strengthens our market-leading tax team. We are delighted to welcome Janet to the Corrs partnership.”

MacLaren added that Cho’s appointment followed a series of other high-profile senior appointments to the Corrs tax practice.

“Most recently, Costa Koutsis joined the team from Ashurst, where he served as global co-head of the firm’s tax practice.

“These senior appointments, along with other recent hires in the tax team, have reinforced Corrs’ position as a leading legal advisor in indirect tax.”
