EY appoints former CEO of global law firm as independent non-executive
The former global CEO of BigLaw firm King & Wood Mallesons has joined the global governance council for EY.
Sue Kench, who served nearly three decades at KWM until June of this year, including as its global chief executive and Australian chief executive partner, has joined EY.
She will sit on the firm’s global governance council as an independent non-executive, effective 1 November.
As a member of the global governance council, Kench will advise EY’s global executive on policies, strategies, and the public interest aspects of its decision making.
She joins two incumbent EY INEs, Tonia Lovell and Duane M. DesParte.
Speaking about the appointment, EY global chair and chief executive Janet Truncale said: “Sue Kench brings exceptional leadership and governance experience that will be invaluable as EY continues to transform for the future and supports clients to adapt in an ever-evolving global landscape”.
“Effective governance, transparency, accountability, and ethical decisionmaking are cornerstones for the EY business,” she said.
“Sue’s experience and integrity will complement the significant contribution of our incumbent INEs and greatly benefit the organisation globally.”
