The professional services firm is welcoming an additional four partners within its risk consulting, sustainability, reporting advisory and national assurance quality teams.

Grant Thornton has appointed Alex Stepanyants, Kevin Mar Fan, David Pitts and Laura Woodman as partners in its network across the Sydney and Brisbane offices.

In the Sydney office, Stepanyants was appointed as a partner within the firm’s risk consulting team with over 20 years of experience specialising in internal audit, governance, risk management and internal controls transformation.

Stepanyants was noted to have capability across the public sector as well as corporate industries and experience in working with clients within the transport & infrastructure, energy & natural resources and national security & justice sectors in Australia and the UK.

With recent work focused on supporting organisations to adopt AI, the firm said Mar Fan brought 30 years of experience in enterprise and technology risk management to the Brisbane office, working with major public and private sector clients across Australia, the US and Europe.

A sustainability specialist with more than 18 years of experience in both Australia and the UK, Pitts was appointed as partner of sustainability reporting advisory in Brisbane to support clients across a range of industries with sustainability strategy, reporting and assurance.

Also joining the Brisbane partner line-up was Woodman, who was appointed within the national assurance quality branch for her 25 years’ experience in complex multi-national audits and national quality roles across Australia and the UK.

Said Jahani, chief executive of Grant Thornton, said the four new partner additions followed the appointment of 26 new partners and principals over the last six months, bringing the total number of partners to 191.

“The appointment of four new partners is a clear indicator of Grant Thornton’s continued momentum and the confidence we have in our strategic direction,” he said.

“Each partner brings their own unique expertise which strengthens our growing capabilities in risk consulting, including internal audit, enterprise and technology risk management, and responsible AI adoption – as well as sustainability advisory and driving continuous improvement in audit quality.”

“These appointments position us to grow at pace while helping shape better futures for our firm, our people, and the communities we serve.”
