Grant Thornton has announced Andrea Waters as its new board chair.

On 8 August 2025, Louise McCann retired from her position of chair of Grant Thornton’s board, passing the torch to non-executive director Andrea Waters.

Said Jahani, CEO of Grant Thornton, expressed gratitude for Louise’s contributions to Grant Thornton, including its progressive people policies and “CARE” values.

“Louise has been instrumental in strengthening our firm’s incredible culture built on trust and its successful corporate governance model. Our strategic leadership team and fellow members of the board, including myself, extend our sincere thanks for Louise’s dedication and outstanding guidance,” Jahani said.

“Her contributions have helped steer the firm through a period of rapid growth and transformation, ensuring Grant Thornton is well-positioned for its successful future.”

Andrea Waters has been part of the Grant Thornton board since 2018 and was the acting chair in 2022. She has extensive experience in finance, governance and audit, and brings a deep understanding of the professional services sector to the role.

Grant Thornton said she would provide stability and experience to Grant Thornton as it entered its next chapter of “accelerated expansion”.

“I am delighted to work more closely with Andrea in her capacity as chair as we continue to evolve our firm and shape its future for the better – for both our people and our clients,” Jahani said.
