HLB Mann Judd appoints Mark Muller to chair Australasian Association

HLB Mann Judd has appointed Mark Muller to chair the HLB Mann Judd Australasian Association, to be effective from 1 January 2026. He steps into the shoes of former chair Tony Fittler, who held the post for 16 years. Fittler is set to continue as a senior tax partner at HLB Mann Judd Sydney.

Muller, who has over 30 years of experience in audit and corporate advisory, said he would spearhead a focus on innovation and value creation in this leadership role. Previously, he led HLB Mann Judd Sydney’s assurance and advisory division for over 15 years.

“I am privileged to step into the role of chair and work alongside our member firms to strengthen the Association and lead it into its next phase of growth,” he said.

“Our profession is changing rapidly, and the challenges facing businesses are increasingly complex. My priority is to champion initiatives that drive innovation, raise the bar on quality, and create tangible value for our people and the clients who trust us to help them succeed.”

Muller had played a key role in shaping the Australasian Association’s capabilities over the past decade, especially in their technical capabilities and audit approach, HLB Mann Judd said. He had also led audits across significant infrastructure public-private partnerships, major construction subcontractors and numerous well-known charities.

With a keen focus on innovation, Muller also worked to expand digital assurance and advisory offerings from HLB Mann Judd’s Sydney office, meeting the evolving needs of clients.

Muller’s predecessor, Tony Fittler, reflected on his time as chair and wished Mueller well for his time as chair.

“It has been a privilege to serve as chair and to work alongside such a dedicated and talented team across our network,” Fittler said.

“Seeing the Association grow has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m confident that under Mark’s leadership, we will continue to thrive, innovate, and deliver value to our people and clients.”
