KordaMentha launches specialist tax controversy and disputes team

Mark Korda, the chief executive and co-founder of KordaMentha, says the new team highlights rising demand for seasoned, independent advisers who can support organisations through increasingly complex matters.

The team will be led by KordaMentha partner Eddy Moussa, joined by partner Andrew Howell and executive director Karen Price.

Moussa provides practical, commercially focused advice to assist corporates, private groups, and high-net-worth individuals in navigating significant tax issues, complex tax disputes, governance matters, and ATO engagements.

“Our team has been involved in some of Australia’s most significant tax disputes, bringing a depth of experience that is difficult to replicate elsewhere in the market."

Alongside Moussa, fellow partner Andrew Howell collaborates with clients on intricate tax controversy issues, encompassing major disputes, litigation, and strategic interactions with the ATO.

In previous roles, Howell has provided counsel on a number of the most prominent tax controversy cases in Australia, such as the landmark PepsiCo High Court case involving diverted profits and royalty withholding tax.

Serving as executive director will be Karen Price, following a career with the ATO, in which she served as assistant commissioner for over four years.
