KPMG Australia, Global reveal new appointments

Profession
10 September 2025

The big four firm has made appointments in both Australia and in its global network to strengthen its reach, branches and client offerings.

In Australia, KPMG has named Brad Miller as its new national managing partner for consulting, while KPMG International has named Rob Fisher as its global head of advisory and Steve Chase as its global head of AI and digital innovation.

Following news of Paul Howes’ departure from KPMG Australia to head the rebranded Sayers Group, Andrew Yates, chief executive of KPMG Australia, revealed the position of national managing partner for consulting would be succeeded by Brad Miller.

Effective from 1 October 2025, Yates said the appointment of Miller was driven by his collaborative leadership approach, combined with extensive consulting expertise, making him the right choice for taking the consulting branch forward.

Miller has been part of the big four firm for a decade and was appointed as chief financial officer in January this year for his 32 years of professional services experience, deep consulting experience and a “proven ability to lead through transformation”.

According to Yates, when Miller first joined the firm, he effectively grew the advisory business in the enterprise division from a team of one partner and four staff members to a team of 700 that generated more than $145 million in revenue at the end of 2024.

“Brad’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for our consulting business. He has a proven track record of empowering others, and delivering bold, strategic outcomes – making him the right person to drive the next phase of consulting at KPMG,” Yates said.

Miller would be based in the Melbourne office and was set to transition responsibilities from Howes across the next few weeks, and would focus on “team culture and shared success”.

Speaking about his appointment, Miller said: “I’m humbled and feel privileged to take on this role at such a pivotal time. I’m passionate about the opportunity to work alongside our talented team to build a culture of shared success – one where we can be unstoppable if we empower each other and our clients to thrive.”

On the international scale, Fisher, appointed as global head of advisory, would be responsible for leading the firm’s global advisory business and would guide 100,000 professionals worldwide to drive high-impact solutions for clients, innovation and quality.

He would also serve on KPMG’s global management team with responsibility for shaping and implementing the global advisory strategy, promoting growth and fostering alignment across member firms.

Fisher said it was a privilege to step into the role at such a transformative time for clients and the advisory business.

“AI is reshaping clients’ competitive landscapes and operating environments, evolving how KPMG professionals deliver services and redefining what’s possible.”

“Amidst the disruption of AI and compound volatility in the external environment, it is more critical than ever that we invest in capabilities that help clients navigate with speed, innovation and trust.”

In addition, Chase was named as global head of AI and digital innovation and would lead the global organisation's efforts to scale AI-embedded client solutions and accelerate internal transformation to help ensure KPMG remained a “leader in responsible, impactful innovation”.

Chase said: “It’s an honour to step into this role at a moment when AI is fundamentally reshaping how work gets done.”

“We’re building on a strong foundation – and as agents usher in the next wave of disruption, we have a real opportunity to lead with clarity, consistency and speed. This isn’t just about deploying new tech. It’s about aligning our global approach to scale trust, accelerate innovation, and empower both our people and our clients to shape what comes next.”
