Moore Global has appointed Moore Australia chairman David Tomasi to global chair commencing 1 January 2027.
The previous chair of the global accounting network, Andy Armanino, will be stepping down after seven years in the role.
Moore Global chief executive, Vivienne Muir, thanked Andy and welcomed Tomasi to the role.
Before being appointed as chair of Moore Australia in mid-2015, Tomasi was managing partner at Moore Australia, based in Perth from 2020 to 2024, and he previously served as chairman of the ANZ association of UHY Haines Norton from 2008 to 2015.
“I am delighted to welcome David as our new Chair. He brings tremendous experience, entrepreneurial energy and a deep understanding of what makes our network successful,” Muir said.
“I also want to thank Andy for his outstanding leadership over the past seven years. He has helped build a remarkably strong foundation for the next stage of Moore Global's development,” she added.
In a statement, Tomasi spoke glowingly about the global network.
“Moore Global has extraordinary strength in its firms, its people and the relationships they have built with clients around the world,” Tomasi said.
“Our opportunity now is to bring those strengths together, to help our clients receive the best service available, which in turn helps us all achieve even greater levels of success. I am excited to be taking on this role at such an important time,” he added.
Before becoming the global chairman, Armanino was chairman of the board of Moore North America from 2005 until 2020.
Armanino reflected on his time as chair and said that he looks forward to seeing the future of the global firm.
“It has been a privilege to serve as chair of Moore Global and to work alongside so many talented people across our network for so many years,” Armanino said.
“I am proud of what we have achieved together and confident that David and Vivienne will build on that progress. I look forward to seeing Moore Global continue to grow and succeed.”
