New financial year, new chief executive for RSM

Profession
04 July 2025

RSM Australia has announced 23 new leadership appointments for the new financial year and a new chief executive partner.

Incoming RSM chief executive partner Robert Miano says the appointments reflect the firm’s focus on staff progression and growth opportunities.

“These new appointments align with our overarching strategic focus on growth and diversification, and strengthen our position as the first-choice advisor for middle market businesses in Australia,” Miano said.

“The significant number of internal promotions is a clear reflection of our commitment towards the career development of our people. Many of those promoted have developed through substantial tenure with RSM, growing with the firm and consistently delivering value.

Outgoing chief executive partner Jamie O’Rourke has retired after 34 years at RSM and nine years leading the firm.

“It is this culture of collaboration and client care among staff that has guided the firm through a period of great growth, which will continue under the guidance of our incoming Chief Executive Partner Robert Miano,” O’Rourke said.

Miano’s appointment makes him the eighth person to lead RSM in the firm’s 103-year history. During his tenure, he said he would aim to prioritise staff retention and growth within RSM’s teams.

As challenging economic conditions and evolving regulations continue to weigh on businesses, Miano added that RSM had appointed a large number of business advisory partners to better service client demand.

“We are also pleased to announce such a significant number of business advisory appointments, reflecting the strong demand we are seeing to provide support and advice to our clients in the current economic landscape,” Miano said.
