The awards are open to all professionals and businesses operating across Australia.

There are 36 individual and group categories for entrants to choose from this year that cover the entire profession, from the most senior ranks through to its young guns who are rising through the ranks.

Individual categories are on offer for academics, accounting consultants and students, auditors, bookkeepers, partners, rising stars, mentors, and thought leaders.

The highest-scoring individual winner will receive the prestigious Excellence Award.

Group categories cover bookkeeping firms, boutique firms, business advisory firms, networks, innovators, SMSF firms, start-ups, and organisations that offer exceptional diversity and inclusion programs and wellness initiatives.

Since its inception in 2014, the Australian Accounting Awards has been the most anticipated awards program of the year for the tax profession.

The unparalleled program identifies the best and brightest professionals in the accounting industry while pinpointing professional development and innovation.

By gaining national recognition, finalists and winners could distinguish themselves from their peers and strengthen their position in the industry by elevating their personal brand, which could unlock new career opportunities.

They could also use the submission criteria as a tool to analyse their business and career progress and set new goals to improve their bottom line.

Furthermore, they will be provided with press coverage, interviews, professional photos, and exclusive collateral, paving the way for them to promote themselves and their businesses as one of the top performers in Australia.

The awards night is an opportunity for finalists and winners to network with industry leaders, peers, and their colleagues across the tax profession.

To enter the awards, decide which categories you are eligible to go into. Review the categories here.

Then, register your account through our secure awards program, and fill in the details of your submission/s.

Finally, when you are happy with your submission, press save and lodge it.

The finalists’ submissions are delivered to a panel of well-respected judges including professionals and business leaders, who assess each submission against the criteria of each award category to determine the winners. Click here to view the methodology.

The judging criteria for award categories are both quantitative and qualitative, acknowledging growth, business development, diversity, leadership, innovation, business excellence and contribution to Australia’s accounting sector.

Accounting Times editor Miranda Brownlee said the awards are a chance for the industry to celebrate exceptional talent across the profession.

“I urge all accounting professionals to get involved for the chance to be recognised for their professionalism, passion and innovation.”
