bdo expands presence with experienced appointments

All three bring expertise from their time at big four firms.

BDO is expanding its presence across NSW and Victoria by appointing three experienced professionals.

Benjamin Lee, Zoe Cameron and Leonie Ferretter are set to be added to the firm’s partnership with the former to be based in BDO’s Melbourne office and the latter two in Sydney.

Mr Lee was appointed as an audit and assurance partner with over 20 years of experience and having worked with clients in Australia, the USA, Papua New Guinea and the South-East Asia region said the firm.

Managing partner of BDO’s Melbourne office David Garvey said Mr Lee will bring a collaborative approach to growing the firm’s national audit practice.

“Benjamin is a pragmatic, collaborative and hands-on operator,” said Mr Garvey.

“These skills are not only highly valuable to our clients, they are important attributes that we want leaders in our firm to be passing down to our people.”

“Benjamin has expertise across a range of sectors including government and public sector, food and agribusiness, natural resources and tourism and hospitality – all of which are sectors that BDO continues to see demand for.”

Mr Lee previously spent over nine years working for EY and joined BDO from Activision Blizzard, where he was finance director of the Asia-Pacific region.

Ms Cameron joins BDO as a project and infrastructure partner with a background in managing complex multi-faceted projects across private, public and non-profit sectors both domestically and internationally, according to the firm.

BDO said Ms Cameron will bring expertise across social infrastructure, transport and aviation infrastructure as well as housing and precinct developments as she joins a growing sector for the firm.

Managing partner of BDO’s Sydney office Grant Saxon said her experience will be invaluable as the firm looks to continue growth across its project and infrastructure advisory team.

“Zoe’s experience with managing complex infrastructure projects is critical in the current environment, and she brings diverse skills to our growing project and infrastructure advisory team, where we work with a number of government agencies and private infrastructure organisations on major projects,” said Mr Saxon.

Ms Cameron joins from Deloitte PDS Group where she was a director and previously worked for project management firms Cameron Darke Management and Donald Cant Watts Corke.

Ms Ferretter also joins BDO’s Sydney office but as a tax partner with expertise in international trade, customs and excise duties.

The firm said she joins from KPMG, where she was a partner and the Australian and Asia-Pacific leader for trade and customers. Before that, Ms Ferretter worked in customs and excise at PwC.

Mr Saxon said her experience and knowledge will benefit the firm’s clients.

“Leonie is passionate about helping clients access various trade concessions and programs, ensuring they realise the full potential in international trade, while saving them time and money,” said Mr Saxon.

“She will be a huge asset to our clients trading globally and those looking to enter that space.”

“Both Zoe and Leonie will add significant depth to our service offerings and will contribute to BDO’s growing market presence in New South Wales and nationally.”
