kordamentha promotes 12

KordaMentha has revealed the promotion of 12 senior positions across the firm, four to partner and eight to executive directors.

The firm said the promotions reflected its strategic growth in its real estate advisory practice as well as the success of its expansion into financial crime and cyber security consultancy.

A leader in the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing sector, Rachel Challis was one of the four promotions to partner, with her new position to be within KordaMentha’s financial crime practice in Melbourne.

The firm said Ms Challis’ experience included leading supervision teams in conducting risk-based engagement, audit and investigation strategies as well as leading Australia’s AML/CTF policy capability during her time as strategic adviser to the chief executive at the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre.

KordaMentha also revealed the promotion of Nick Crockett to partner with its real estate practice in Melbourne.

The firm said Mr Crockett had more than 20 years of real estate, finance, and management experience across several global markets and had established and managed multiple platforms within the Asia Pacific.

Mr Crockett’s expertise also included his ability to arrange and structure debt and equity real estate capital for single assets, programmatic joint ventures, and commingled funds across several countries.

Within the firm’s restructuring practice, David Johnstone was promoted to partner in its Brisbane office.

The firm said Mr Johnstone’s 14 years of experience in professional services, including managing key financial and operational stakeholders, preparing business reviews, and managing trading controls and procedures for continued operations was a central part of his promotion.

After being at KordaMentha since 2011, Samuel Woods was promoted to partner within the firm’s real estate practice in Perth.

The firm said Mr Woods’ experience incorporated all asset classes within the property and finance industries, which helped him address a broader range of factors before implementing and managing an adopted strategy through to completion.

The other promotions to executive director included:

  • Stacey Clisby — restructuring — Brisbane
  • Paul Hewson — restructuring — Sydney
  • Joshua Jeyaraj — restructuring — Singapore
